The Medtronic 780G is the more advanced pump. It comes with new features like auto-correction bolus doses with Meal Detection™ Technology. It also is compatible with the most advanced Medtronic CGM, the Guardian 4™ Sensor. The 770G is being phased out. If you currently use the 770G, you may continue using it until October 2026. After that you’ll need to upgrade to the 780G.

Before you start using the MiniMed 780G system, review important safety information from Medtronic. This pump is designed for individuals living with Type 1 diabetes who are 7 years of age and older. When using the Guardian Sensor 4 CGM, you should keep a blood glucose meter to double-check readings when necessary. Fingersticks are required in manual mode and to enter SmartGuard™. If symptoms don’t match alerts and readings, use a fingerstick. Pivotal trial participants spend average of > 93% of time in SmartGuard™.

*Taking a bolus 15 – 20 minutes before a meal helps to keep blood sugar levels under control after eating.
